Upcoming Events for 2025:
We’re pleased to announce that poet Jane Hirshfield will spend an afternoon with us the coming Sunday, October 5 to pave the way to our full gathering next year—when she will return as one of our workshop faculty. This is an in-person event at the gorgeous 434-acre public garden that is the Western North Carolina Arboretum. Though we do require registration, it is entirely free and open to the public. Welcome reception will start at 1:00 pm, ET, at the Arboretum’s Educational Center, followed by a reading, discussion, and book signing with Hirshfield at 2:30 pm. Link for registration will be made available at the beginning of August.
We’re also pleased to offer three online generative writing sessions this coming season. These will happen Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm - 8:30, ET—on August 26, October 21, & December 9. All are free & open to the public, but registration required. Links will be made available a few weeks before each event.

We believe in the transformative power of poetry to rise up during these most challenging times, and we nurture those who are determined—hellbent—to find words that protect, repair, and bear witness to this earth and our non-human kin of plants and animals.
Come. Join us.
Alone, each of us is one person. But together we are a chorus of voices heard over the coming storms.
